A new womenswear brand for the horse girls

Oh, what’s this? A Snack? You may see me playing around a bit with new ideas here on À La Carte, and these midweek morsels delivered right to the doorstep of your inbox are first up. Snacks are bite-sized, randomly-sent newsletters featuring things I’ve just discovered and need to tell you about immediately—my version of a “saw this and thought of you.” We’ll have Brand Snacks, Art Snacks, Shop Snacks… Our snack cupboard will be stacked.

Our first Brand Snack is Cecilia, a new womenswear brand for the horse girls among us.

Cecilia caught my eye right away. It’s sort of Ralph Lauren meets Bode meets your childhood bedroom, a playful mix of surrealist silk scarves, riding helmet-inspired balaclavas, and clever intarsia knits.

The hand painted prize ribbon backdrops! And the little drawn frames! They really did nail the art direction here. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this equestrian gem of a label.
