No. 8 — Opting out, hot goss, and high heels

What’s on the menu for 3/24/23

I spent last weekend at Cuyama Buckhorn, the most lovely and wholesome motel-gone-hotel in what feels like the middle of nowhere (it’s 2 hours from my house, so it isn’t really.) It was the best three days of wildflowers, reading by a fire, skillet cornbread, and sleeping in. 

I tell you this for 2 reasons: 1. I’m trying to maintain a level of zen right now so I’m keeping this week’s newsletter somewhat breezy, and 2.
