Welcome to Notes Of! Each month I make a mood board and post it to Instagram as a little creative exercise in thematic thinking. Notes Of elaborates on each month’s theme and includes links to relevant articles, videos, products, and more.
This month’s mood board is inspired by a conversation I had with my friend Jordy the other day. We were discussing the various ways people decorate for Christmas—kitschy, classic, rustic, etc.—and decided that my scheme is “Girl Christmas”. Bow tree? Check. Bow AND baby’s breath tree? Check, check. Puffy-sleeved vintage dresses in non-breathable fabrics? Check check checkcheckcheck.
Jordy described it as an “Eloise at the Plaza” vibe (book, not movie) and I think it’s pretty spot on. I love a bow! I love a classic plaid! I love a patent leather mary jane! What I lack in religion or classic holiday iconography (Santa, snowmen, etc.) I make up for in cutesy things that are appealing to fancy toddlers and adults alike.
Also, real quick, a reminder that paid annual subscriptions are 20% until Tuesday, so now’s the time for a lil’ upgrade if you’ve been thinking about it!
So without further ado, Girl Christmas!!!
