Snacks are short-form, midweek drops featuring brands I just discovered, shops I stumbled onto, artists I think you’ll love… little odes to the things I find that I’m sending straight over to you.
This week’s Shop Snack is Quail Store, an interiors concept shop based in Philadelphia, artfully curated by owner Ashley Olmstead. I’ve only ever perused the aisles of Quail Store’s online outpost, but it doesn’t take much to see that Ashley has really good taste.

One of my favorite ways to discover new-to-me artists and brands is to look to the curators—people like Ashley who have a knack for hunting down things the rest of us haven’t yet. There’s so much sameness out there, so to find a shop like Quail Store that sells the artworks of independent artists and goods from all over the world is a breath of fresh air.

Quail Store has been the bridge to tons of makers I now keep my eye on: fiber artist Everyone’s Mother, candlemaker WAX Atelier, textile artist Studio Sydney, pajama maker Magniberg, and ceramicist Wonky Ware included. Plus, it’s home to a lot of design-driven brands I’ve long loved, like Autumn Sonata, Studio Ford, and Jaymes Paper. Really, an ideal roster.
Follow Quail Store on Instagram here, shop their site here, and, if you’re in Philly, pop on over to their brick and mortar ASAP.

What’s In My Bag(s)
In the spirit of all those who have come before me, I present you with my own “What’s in my bag?” feature. This doesn’t stop at my everyday bag, though; we’re peeking into all of my bags—my gym bag, work tote, out-to-dinner pouch, carry-on, and poolside stash included.
How to Turn Your Home Office Into Alessandro Michele's Gucci Studio
Welcome back to Room Recipe, a column on À La Carte where we stare at an image of a room we love for a very long time, then break down its “ingredients” into specific items and themes. The goal is never to copy, but instead to get to the bottom of why certain rooms just *work* and to understand how we can translate that inspiration into real life.

Some Items you could include in an updated Beautiful Versions of Boring Things post? I didn't know I needed a galvanized dustpan and horsehair dust brush but now I certainly do.
Love how you appreciate and seek unique curation! Would love to share ours… uncommon artists that we discover and create relationships with to share their inspirations and experience across jewelry, art and home goods: https://poetandthebench.com
