When I asked you all what movie I should base Side Order on this week — Call Me By Your Name, The Parent Trap, The Sound of Music, or Grease — you *overwhelmingly* voted for The Parent Trap. My style was and continues to be heavily influenced by the 1998 classic, so I’m not surprised that many of you feel the same way.

In case you’re new here, Side Order is my monthly shopping column! I choose a theme and search the internet high and low for items for your closet and home that reflect that theme.

But back to The Parent Trap. It was pretty much decided as we walked out of the theater: I am an Annie and my sister Chelsea is a Hallie. I was deeply impacted by Elizabeth James and dreamt of photo shoots and white pajama sets while Chels saw herself in Hallie’s poker game attitude and general spunkiness. We now both dress like Chessy on a daily basis.

I had my Hallie moments, too.

Anyway, I could go on and on about how much I loved this movie (I tear up every time when Hallie-as-Annie whispers “please like me, please” on the way to meet her mom!!!) but I have a feeling most of you (at least 51% of you, according to my poll) can relate. So let’s get into this month’s Side Order!!!

Real quick, a few notes:

  • I decided to forgo any The Parent Trap merch that’s out there (and there is a LOT — take a gander on Etsy if you’re interested.)

  • I’ve sorted this by setting: summer camp, London, and Napa. I sadly had to ignore two important locations, the Stafford Hotel and the QEII, for sanity purposes (because I could have kept going.)

  • There’s a little bonus round up at the end for a particularly special character that deserved her own moment.

Without further ado…36 items inspired by The Parent Trap:
