In reality it may be spring for another three weeks, but in our hearts, we’ve made it to summer, baby!!! The beaujolais is chilling, the vacation requests are pending, and the impulse Memorial Day sale purchases are delivering to our doorsteps. There’s a real “school’s out for the summer” vibe out there, and I, for one, am relishing in it.
Which brings me to a bit of news: the first À La Carte Summer Print Issue drops Friday, June 6th! Some of you may remember the holiday print issue, and one week from today I’ll be back with its sunshiney, sun-kissed counterpart.
This season’s mini-magazine has all the makings of a perfect summer, whether you’re spending it on an island somewhere or at home in your backyard. Inside you’ll find a little bit of everything, from a summer reading list curated by
and to the ultimate guide to patio wine drinking from . We’ve got grocery shopping lists from some expert summer snackers (Long Weekend’s ! Big Night’s Ariella Sperling! Bucatini’s Sofia Stephens and Victoria Fayad! Brightland’s Aishwarya Iyer!), an epic packing list worthy of checking a bag, and a vacation inspiration exercise facilitated by yours truly. Plus, there’s a playlist curated by Latin Gold Records that will transport you to a faraway happy hour and a giant mood board filled with artwork submitted by À La Carte readers. Honestly, it’s my favorite thing I’ve ever made. The print issue will be available for purchase on my website on Friday, June 6th. (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you!) BUT, if you’re in LA, swing by Platform in Culver City on Saturday, June 7th to visit the À La Carte Newsstand, a one-day pop-up shop where you can grab a copy of the print issue, some specialty sundries, and more. Bucatini will be there serving aperitivo, too, so we invite you to make a leisurely afternoon out of it.
Oh, and! The first 50 visitors to the newsstand will receive a free copy of The À La Carte Guide to Los Angeles, a printed zine that’s your plus one to the perfect bop around LA. This zine is a newsstand exclusive, so be sure to stop by to grab it while you can.
More details soon, but in the meantime, start gathering your favorite friends to spend a Saturday with—it would mean the world to me to see you there!

Eleanor Cording-Booth’s Plus One
Plus One is a new column where we’ll be tagging along with some of the best people with the best recs in town. Think of it like a highly specific city guide! In this month's Plus One, Eleanor Cording-Booth takes us to her favorite spots around London.
How to Turn Your Closet Into a Bode-ified Dressing Room
Welcome back to Room Recipe, a column on À La Carte where we stare at an image of a room we love for a very long time, then break down its “ingredients” into specific items and themes. The goal is never to copy, but instead to get to the bottom of why certain rooms just *work* and to understand how we can translate that inspiration into real life.
ÀLC FAQ: How do you make your mood boards?
It’s been a minute—like, almost a year—since I’ve done an FAQ post. But I’m back, baby! Wiser than ever! (Kidding.)
Eeeee! The beau & I will be there! XO
Yay! I missed out on the winter one, so I'm going to be on top of this one!
